Mau Sponsorship (updated April 17, 2013)

Many cats have to wait some time until they get adopted. Sadly, there are also other cats at EMRO that are not adoptable. Some are feral (wild) while others have health issues which preclude them from living in a domestic environment. But they obviously still need food and medical care. Caring for any of these cats is made possible with sponsorship money we receive each month. Also check out our Adoptable EMRO Cats, KSA Cats, or Off-site Mau & Non-Mau Cats - they are all also sponsorable!

We have also built a small garden area around the shelter for the ferals to hide in upon release (courtesy of a donation of Aida Marina of CA, USA!). If you are interested in sponsorship, you can sponsor one or more cats through:

Sponsors will have their names listed (if wished) by the cat of their choice, or they can leave it to EMRO to decide which funds go to which cat, based on need. Please contact sponsor@emaurescue.org for donations, sponsorship or more information.

EMRO thanks those below who are donating monthly to general shelter sponsorship and have not yet decided which cat to sponsor or just wish to donate to general expenses. Please note that we can use more than one person for sponsoring each cat to help with expenses (estimated to be over USD 50/month per cat!).

  • A.I.M.E.- "Association Internationale du Mau Egyptien" and breedery "Fondcombe"in France (Egyptian Mau International Association).
  • Sharon of NC, USA
  • Aida of CA, USA
  • Betty of IL, USA
  • Lisa of Cairo, Egypt

Her temporary Caregiver, Ms. Madeha (after who she is named), first spotted this kitten, injured and limping, 3 1/2 months ago on the roof of a building adjacent to hers. Ms. Madeha does not know how this little kitty ended up all alone on the roof but has managed to get her to be trustful and is now at EMRO. Madeha is described being frightened of most people, but her trust can be gained with patience and time. Unfortunately, Ms. Madeha already has 6 cats of her own and is unable to adopt any more.
